Jan 6, 2014. #1. Just came back from the camera store where I did a comparison between the Fuji 27mm f2.8 and the Fuji 23mm f1.4. In many ways they are two completely different lenses for two different uses, but they do have similarities too for some uses. I mostly like to shoot at the middle apertures for max image quality - f4 to f8 much of

One of Fujifilm's latest lens revamps is this, the XF 27mm F2.8 R WR. While the optical formula is the same as the previous model, this new one comes with a physical aperture ring and weather-sealing without noticeably increasing its size. It's also nice and sharp, even wide-open – check it out in our sample gallery. View our Fujfilm XF 27mm

Viltrox stepped up to the plate last year and delivered its first pro-level lens in the form of the AF 75mm f/1.2, which is a devastatingly good lens. It has followed that with the 27mm f/1.2 that
Ergonomically this is a well designed lens; whilst it is relatively large compared to a true street lens such as the Fuji XF 27mm f/2.8 pancake, it is around the same size and weight as the Fuji
Image quality, it's pretty similar to those. Negligible difference if any. The 23 and 35 are a little faster to focus but the 27 isn't slow by any means. No aperture ring, but I just set it to f8 and go. No fuss. Easy, light, small, great image quality and cheap. If it was weather resistant, it would be perfect.

GregWard. Welcome to the forum. If you look at the front of your lens you will see various numbers. The 27mm and f2.8 you already know about (the focal length and widest aperture). The remaining number (39) is the size of the filter thread (nb you will typically find this written inside the lens cap as well).
